Real Estate Job Interviews Most Asked Questions

November 10th, 2007 · 1 Comment

The questions asked at a Real Estate interview are often a little different to those asked at a 9-5 type job – thats why we thought it could be of benefit to our readers to find some of the more common real estate job interview questions and compile them for reference.

If you are thinking about entering a career in the Real Estate industry, firstly you will need to convince the hiring manager that you have what it takes to be able to sell houses, and its important to realize that many Real Estate Agents starting out do not do very well, it does take a long time to build up the contacts and required skill set to be able to effectively market and sell real estate.

How does your training and experience qualify you for this position?

Tell us about the role that you have played in a major purchase?

How do you explain an appraisal to a client?

What is your pre-marketing strategy?

Are you able to survive for extended periods of time when sales may slow down?

There are a few to get you started, also however I would like to build this page up as a resource, so if you are an agent and are reading this article, please can you share your experience and tell us the hardest or most interesting/challenging questions that you were asked when you went for that first job as a Real Estate Agent.

Once you have built a history of selling houses the job interview becomes secondary to how much money you can make for your new company!

Another useful question: When listings are hard to come by, are you prepared to go door knocking or cold calling and have you done either of these activities before?
